The Junior Academy Learning Method

2025 Season

At the Brussels Drohme Golf Club, young golfers progress step by step through a fun and structured approach.
They develop their skills through both practical and theoretical exercises, and can earn badges to validate their achievements.

  • The different exercises are inspired by the VVG, AFGOLF and the PGA of Europe.

Regular testing to track progress

Skills are assessed several times throughout the year: May, end of September, and November.

Tests can be taken:

  1. During training sessions with their instructor

  2. On request with a pro (paid option)

Once all badges have been earned, juniors may access the course and aim for their Compact course (HCP 54).

Badge theory

Theory

Understand the Game: Before playing golf safely and confidently, it’s essential to understand the basic rules and etiquette on the course.
This step may include a rules session at the club and a quiz to test your knowledge.
Passing the theory exam is mandatory before progressing to the next step: Compact Course.

Golf Quiz

The golfer takes the theory test during a dedicated session or individually by requesting it at the front desk (1h duration).

The test is used to determine if the new golfer is able to react appropriately on the course while maintaining a good pace of play.
(Use of the rules book or other support material is allowed)

Adult test: 24/30 – open book

Junior test: 16/20

  1. Under 12: oral exam with one of the pros
  2. Over 12: written exam – open book
